Ford was launched with financing from twelve investors. The twelve investors contributed a total of $28,000 in cash. The most notable characters were John Francis Dodge and Horace Elgin Dodge who would later found the Dodge Brothers Motor Vehicle Company. From its early years, Ford produced just a few Model T’s a day at its factory on Mack Avenue in Detroit, Michigan. Henry Ford was just 40 years when he founded the Ford Motor Company. Ford was also amongst a few companies that survived the great depression and later became one of the largest and most profitable companies in the world. Ford has since its inception been under the control of a continuous family control. Ford has major manufacturing operations in several countries notably; Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Germany, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, the PeoplesRepublic of China, and several other countries, including South.

Ford is based in Dearborn, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit.
